Maintaining Your Plugin Modules

Did you know you can make changes to your Community Builder plugin modules?
What is a plugin module?
Plugin modules are content specific blocks of text, images, and videos that can be strategically placed on different pages and in the columns of your community pages.
Examples:
  1. The announcements plugin module - lets you easily edit the text displayed on your community regarding announcements.
  2. The Contact Us plugin module - lets you place a contact us field on different pages of your community.
  3. The What's New plugin module - lets you easily edit the text displayed on your community regarding what's new with your community.
To make changes to your plugin modules you will first need to:
  1. Login to your Community Builder admin account.
  2. Click the (Patron Site Configuration Options) button in the lower right quadrant.
  3. Click the (Patron Account Config. Plugins) button.
To find the page you want to make changes to plugins on:
  1. Open your community home page.
  2. Navigate to the page with the plugin module(s) you want to move or reorder.
  3. Look at the URL in your browser. If the URL is too long to see all of it double click on the url to select all of it then copy and paste it into a note pad file.
  4. Look for the page name ending in ".asp" to the far right of the URL you copied.
  5. Example: For the home page the URL should look similar to:
    https://communitybuilder.communitybuilder.live/CommunityBuilder/HomePages/PatronHome.asp
    The page name you are interested in is (PatronHome.asp)
  6. Look for this name in the table of results once you clicked the (Patron Account Config. Plugins) button.
  7. Select the row matching the name.
To remove a plugin from the page:
  1. Select the column you want to remove a plugin from using the "Filter on Column" drop down list box.
  2. Select "Left column = Y" or "Right column = Y" or "Center column = Y".
    This will display the plugins currently appearing in the specified column.
  3. Click on the row that specifies the plugin module you want to remove.
  4. Change Yes to No in the Include In Column Y/N:
  5. Click (Save Plugin Module Name).
To add a plugin to the page:
  1. Select the column you want to add a plugin from using the "Filter on Column" drop down list box.
  2. Select "Left column = N" or "Right column = N" or "Center column = N".
    This will display the plugins NOT currently appearing in the specified column.
  3. Click on the row that specifies the plugin module you want to add.
  4. Change No to Yes in the Include In Column Y/N:
  5. Click (Save Plugin Module Name).
To change the order of the plugin:
  1. NOTE: The lower order the number the higher the plugin will appear in the column.
    i.e. 0 is at the top of the column.
  2. Select the column you want to remove a plugin from using the "Filter on Column" drop down list box.
  3. Select "Left column = Y" or "Right column = Y" or "Center column = Y".
    This will display the plugins currently appearing in the specified column.
  4. Click on the row that specifies the plugin module you want to change the order of.
  5. Set the number of the order for the plugin in the Order Number: field.
  6. Click (Save Plugin Module Name).
