- Secure File Drops with Next Cloud:
Next Cloud allows you to create a link where files can be uploaded securely. IMPORTANT NOTE: This encrypts the file during the upload (same as https) but the file remains UN-ENCRYPTED when it is written on the server! The use case for this may be along the lines of providing a secure way to upload documents or images for someone else to review but they also need them in an un-encrypted state so they are viewable without requiring decryption. So while this is a nice feature for providing a secure upload please be aware of the limitations of this specific method of upload files to the Next Cloud server and that there are other options for maintaining a file in an encrypted state - see below.

The bottom line when it comes to securing your files is to encrypt them yourself before you ever upload them to ANY cloud service.
There are many encryption programs available for FREE to secure your sensitive files but we recommend Cryptomator as a very user friendly choice.
